Abstract:
Objective: This study aims to explore the potential of sea kelp as a natural immunity booster during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research investigates its health benefits, focusing on its nutrient content and effects on human immunity.
Method: The study employs both primary and secondary research methods. Primary data was collected through interviews with nutritionists and companies that produce sea kelp supplements. Secondary data includes the analysis of scientific literature, online reports, and journal articles about the health benefits of sea kelp.
Results: Sea kelp is found to be rich in essential vitamins and minerals, particularly iodine, calcium, magnesium, and vitamins B12, A, and K. Regular consumption of sea kelp, within recommended dosages, shows significant potential to boost immunity. However, excessive intake can lead to health complications, particularly for individuals with thyroid issues or pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Conclusions: Sea kelp is a powerful, natural immunity booster that can be beneficial during health crises like the Covid-19 pandemic. However, medical consultation is necessary before incorporating it into daily diets to prevent adverse effects from excessive iodine intake.
